A fine smoky reduction is reminiscent of flint and gives the wine depth from the first moment. Behind this, ripe apple, mirabelle plum, melon, and orange peel emerge, accompanied by toasted nuts and a hint of ginger. On the palate, it is concentrated and powerful, yet fresh and subtly salty.

The heavy, iron-rich clay soil stores warmth during the day, while wind and cool nights preserve its freshness. Fermentation in large wooden barrels and eleven months on the full lees deepen its spicy, nutty character.
